Digital Dollhouse Review & Giveaway CLOSED

I was one of those kids that loved dollhouses. Not so much the whole playing with the dolls thing - just the dollhouses. I loved decorating the dollhouse inside and out. I would make my own curtains and furniture and add fancy little flowers, wallpaper carpets and jewelry odds and ends became fancy adornments. I could spend hours upon hours rearranging the furniture to make it look just right!

When I was first asked to do a review of Digital Dollhouse I was going to pass it by because the software program is targeted at kids to give them a creative outlet where they can design and furnish their own virtual dream homes. I don't have any children old enough to play with it. However once I visited the website and took a peak it was something I just couldn't pass up!



Digital Dollhouse may be targeted towards kids but it's just as much fun for the adults! I have been playing with it on and off for a couple of weeks and my only complaint is that I wish I had more time to play. It's just like playing with dollhouses when I was a kid and it's completely addicting!

Right now there are two houses to play with a Victorian Dream home which I really haven't had a chance to play with yet because I've been playing with the Campion Platt Beach House! I so want to get my beach house complete so I can move on to the Victorian Dream home before they come out with the new houses that are coming soon - the New York Loft, The Castle & The Chateau!!

Digital Dollhouse lets you choose everything from flooring to wall paint or paper, furnishings, accessories, lighting & extras. I have spent a while now and I only have two rooms complete because I keep changing my mind - lol! You can arrange and rearrange everything in the house right down to the pet dog! There are house specific items for each style of home so you never have to use the same items over and over again.

When you are finished designing your room you take a snapshot and share it in the gallery or just save it. Parents no need to worry because there is no live chat - although members can comment on each others snapshots there is no opportunity to share personal information so you can be rest assured that your kids are safe while they play.

You can register for a free account and start playing. You can also purchase different monthly allowances which will give you Digital Dollhouse coins so you can buy additional items for your houses. There are two allowances $4.95 a month gives you Full allowance member privileges + 1000 ddCoins a month! Or the Designer Allowance which gives you Full allowance member privileges + 2500 ddCoins a month!+ personal Tips + tricks from design gurus! You can also earn Digital Dollhouse coins by sharing your designs in the gallery, voting on others designs & inviting friends to play. So there are several ways to have fun and get all the extras you might want for your dream house. You can even create a friends list and share snapshots of your homes, virtual items and you can even give gifts!

I found the website very easy to navigate, it does have a small learning curve but really doesn't take long to catch on. Once you learn how to move all the stuff around and add items on top of other items you'll be creating your rooms in no time. Well you will if you're not like me and can leave the room alone once you have it complete and quit changing it around! LOL!

Personally, I think Digital Dollhouse is great for kids of all ages. Not only will this program keep them busy for hours and relieve them from boredom, it teaches them as they go. They will learn a lot about spacial perception, color co-ordination, architecture, and design in general. For the price of a bag of chips and a bottle of pop they could be designing their own dream homes!
