If you're a mom of a tween girl I know you are going to love hearing about My Secret Circle by Senario!
My Secret Circle is a cool social networking site for tween girls that is totally safe and secure from the outside world!
You can only access the site if you have the special USB key
and only your own true life friends that you invite can interact with you. There are no advertisements on the site and no strangers sitting there reading your daughters posts or viewing her photos! You can relax knowing she is safe and secure while she enjoys all the fun activities available.
My niece received the BFF (Best Friend Forever) to review. It contains two USB keys so one could be shared with her best friend.
Installation was easy, it's all plug n play! Once you insert the key the software automatically starts to install and within minutes you are on the My Secret Circle Website. You can connect with your friends that have their own USB keys by sharing a secret password. They do not come in contact with anyone else other than their friends they share their secret passwords with.
~ Girls can create their profile on the "All About Me" page.
~ Design their own Diva avatar.
~ Chat by IM with their friends
~ They can even voice chat if they have the optional headset
~ They can play games alone or with their friends
~ Upload & share photos with their friends
~ Plus keep an online journal/diary
I think My Secret Circle is awesome! Moms don't have to worry about who's chatting to their daughter yet still allow them the freedom to go online, have fun, chat, play games, and share photos without you having to stand over their shoulder.
The site is pink Diva themed and extremely cute! The USB key is all decked out in adorable charms and it all just screams Diva!
I found the price to be very reasonable - The BFF pack retails for $29.99 and a single key retails for $19.99. You can also purchase a headset that unlocks live chat There are no additional charges once you purchase the key - no monthly access or subscription fees. My niece loves it and now all her other friends want one too! I think this would be the perfect gift for the tween on your list - especially if you want to be considered "fully sick", "dope", "sweet" or "totally rad"!
The only slight problem I have with "My Secret Circle" is that the password is permanent and cannot be changed. If you forget it or lose it you are out of luck! I think maybe they should have a few security questions when you register and keep a copy of the secret code you register so you can have it sent to you should you ever lose it. My best advice - make sure you write it down and keep a couple copies of it - also make sure it's a password that is very easy to remember!
